Max Lucado’s Community

So many love Max Lucado’s messages. I can personally say that few authors impact me like Max does. Susan Ligon, David Moberg, David Schroeder and team thought, “What if we built a place where those who love Max’s messages can connect?” Thus the Max Lucado Community built by Jon Dale.
The Max Lucado Community exists to provide a way for the core fans to connect with each other. Within the site, fans discuss information and topics from Max’s books as well other issues like faith at work, marriage, prayer, being encouraged in a fearful world, etc. We are utilizing the site for giveaways and to inform people about Max’s media interviews and connect them to tour events for future books.
Launched in January 2010, Max’s community had 2000 fans sign up in the first 24 hours. Each person on average invites four other friends. In four months, the community now has over 4300 fans.
Here are just a few other interesting facts about Max’s community:
- 23% are ministry leaders
- 73% of members are in the USA, 27% international. Canada has the largest outside of US with 134 members.
- 66% female, 44% male
- 20% 18-34, 50% 35-54, 30% 55+
- 12% are active bloggers

Tod,
I love Max's writings and his heart, and the fact he speaks Portuguese as well. Great job with the community site. What are the long-term expectations for this site? How do you see this evolving?

The long-term expectations are that Max's many fans will find this site to be a great place to share their passion about Max's writings. Several groups have sprung up on the site, and I suspect many more will. (I think we have 97 so far.) I see it evolving as a place Max can also get closer to his many fans as he spreads His message. All that said, the most exciting thing is we do not even know yet all that it can be.

I just discovered you as well as this post. I actually discovered you through the community. Ironic.
It is a wonderful place and the Lucado Team are a wonderful group of people. I really enjoyed the live community interaction with Max last week in the Outlive Your Life group. That was a great idea and I know the community looks forward to more times like that.
Thank you all for your innovative thinking and your boldness to try new things in order to bring together not only Max's fans, but also the body of Christ internationally. That has been one of the biggest blessings of the MLC.
